Cory Ray Director of Recruiting/Performance Coach Faster Athlete recruiting, training and customer
service is handled primarily by Recruiting Director and Performance Coach Cory Ray. Cory attended the University
of Tulsa on a track scholarship, is a sprint training specialist and experienced track coach. In addition
to being one of the fastest sprinters ever to come out of the Tulsa area, Coach Ray has studied the training methods of some
of the country’s leading sprint coaches and is certified by USA Track and Field. Cory is on the coaching staff
of East Central High School's track team, works with his own track athletes and in addition to recruiting and customer service,
handles most of the Faster Athlete training classes and Adult Cross-Training. Cory
was a four-year letter winner in track & football at Tulsa Central High School and accepted a track scholarship to the
University of Tulsa, although injuries cut short his Olympic dreams. Cory was selected TU's Indoor Track athlete
of the year as a Freshman. In high school Cory did not lose a race in the 100-meters as a senior . . . won the Oklahoma Class 4A State Championship in the 100-meters as a junior and senior . . . also won the gold medal at the Great Southwest for the 100-meters . . . earned all-state, all-conference and all-city honors as a senior . . . won the state indoor 55-meters as a junior and senior . . . finished second at the state meet in the 200-meters as a senior . . . was a member of the state champion 4x100-meter relay team as a senior. He also earned district Defensive Back of the Year honors and was an all-state honorable mention selection in football as a senior.
Dan Hedman Founder/Director of Marketing/Performance Coach Faster Athlete
is the brainchild of Founder and Coach Dan Hedman. Coach
Hedman has a vision to teach children the fundamentals of football and help them develop athletically to maximize their opportunity
to be involved in athletics at the highest levels that comes from his many years as a youth football coach in New Hampshire Pop Warner
and Jenks INFC, coaching both of his sons in baseball, basketball
and lacrosse as well as football. Youngest son Seth (in photo left) is currently a Redshirt Freshman at Drake University.
Seeking to overcome natural limitations in his boy's athleticism led
Coach Hedman to pursue training options, eventually leading him to take Seth to Velocity Sports Performance for training.
Coach Hedman proceeded to work for Velocity as Recruiting Director and was involved in marketing, event planning and daily
operations. That exposure to the highest levels of athletic development changed not only Seth's future by getting him
ready for college athletics, but also showed Coach Hedman the impact performance training can have on young people of all
ages and gave him the vision for Faster Athlete. Dan is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
