Dan Hedman
IYCA Youth Fitness Specialist, Level
1
Founder/Director of Marketing/Performance Coach
Faster Athlete
is the brainchild of Founder and Youth Specialist Coach Dan Hedman. Coach Hedman had a vision to teach children the fundamentals of football and help them develop athletically that comes from his many years as a youth football coach in New Hampshire Pop Warner
and Jenks INFC and from coaching both of his son's teams in
baseball, basketball and lacrosse as well as football. Oldest
son Sean was successful in track at Jenks, turned down an offer to play NAIA football and is studying Human Performance at
Oklahoma State. Youngest son Seth (in photo left) was All-Metro football at Holland Hall and is currently a Redshirt
Freshman linebacker at Drake University in Des Moines. It was during these years Coach Hedman developed a passion for
teaching kids and also noticed how many kids were under-developed athletically.
Seeking
to overcome natural limitations in his own boy's athleticism and his own limits to train led Coach Hedman to pursue training
options, eventually leading him to take Seth to Velocity Sports Performance for training. That training still helps
Seth in college today. Coach Hedman proceeded to work for Velocity as Recruiting Director and was involved in marketing,
event planning and daily operations. That exposure to the highest levels of athletic development changed not only Seth's
future by getting him ready for college athletics, but also showed Coach Hedman the impact quality performance training can
have on young people of all ages and gave him the vision for Faster Athlete. Dan is a member of the National Strength
and Conditioning Coaches Association, the International Youth Coaches Association and USA Football.
